The vases are sculpted out of monolithic blocks of the autochthonous Alabaster only found in the Volterra region of Tuscany, Italy. Grecucci has attempted to portray the sedimentary nature of Alabaster and glorify the tremendous amount of time it has taken for geological events to give life to this graceful material. Besides their functional aspects, the vases are also conceived as sculptural objects to bring a piece of design culture within the home, to be seen in dialogue with the existing furnishings.
